Our first production for the Atari 2600 game console. It's simple but features a 3D raster bar, a 96 pixel sprite text display routine and plays music made with our own home made tracker for Atari 2600 music called StellaTracker.

This demo started its life as a kind of fast demo to be made in 3 weeks just before Kindergarden 2011. The demo concept turned out to have more potential than we initially thought and we decided to wait and put some more work into it. This also gave us time to add support for deferred rendering in our 3d-engine and this is our first demo rendered with this technique.

We tried making a chill out demo and capturing the mood of night driving. Obvious inspiration sources were Outrun and the movies Drive and Tron.

We tried coming up with a simple consept that could be made really fast and only out of stuff we had already laying around. We focused on creating a good atmosphere and visual look rather than creating new fancy effects. This is the result.

This demo has a long story. It was just supposed to be a quick production for Kindergarden 2008 but the concept was just too loose and weird. It was supposed to be dark and hard and look like a mix of a military parade and an olympic games opening ceremony with robots marching in formations and spectators forming \"human led displays\" etc. It soon became clear that creating something like this demanded more than our 3D engine and modelling/animation skills could handle and alot more time. Also we had no soundtrack.
We tried for release at Solskogen 2009 but we were still not sure in what direction to take the demo and we still had no fitting soundtrack. Then we tried for Kindergarden 2009 but still had the same problems. We were close to giving up on the whole project but gave it a last shot and entered it in the compo at Solskogen 2010 where it to our surprise won the compo.
The name and style caused a bit of controversy too. Some people called it \"a nazi hommage in red\" and \"pseudo nazi shit\" :) Fortunatly most people liked it and we had never received this amount of positive feedback on any of our productions before.
